Dr. Bonni Hodges
Executive Director
Dr. Bonni C. Hodges is a State Unversity of New York (SUNY) Distinguished Service Professor and Professor of Health at the State University of New York College at Cortland. She received her PhD from the University of Maryland in health education, a M.S. in exercise science from Northeastern University, and a B.S. in physical education with a concentration in athletic training from Ithaca College. She is a former certified athletic trainer. She is a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service, SUNY Chancellor’s Research and Scholarship Recognition Award, SUNY Cortland Outstanding Achievement in Research Award, and the SUNY Cortland President’s Award for Funded Research. Her current research areas focus on how best to foster and support student-athlete well-being; the role of athletic trainers in health promotion and health education with student-athletes; and social determinants of student-athlete and athletic staff health and well-being. She is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences and workshops, has published in a variety of journals in public health and education and school health, and is the primary author of Assessment and Planning in Health Programs.
